Life gets a whole lot more complex when you move to managing a larger team. The larger team means you have less time to be doing the work yourself. It means more time on leading others who will complete the detailed jobs at hand. To do this you will need to know the difference between management and leadership. This course is targeted to help managers take the lead when needed and allow the business to flow when that's best.

Leadership in the current climate is definitely different to the style of leadership that existed up to the beginning of this millennium. While there's a great deal to learn from leaders in the past, there are new models of behaviour that today and tomorrow's leaders must display.

This course has gone through a total redesign to accommodate the new leader.

Learning Outcomes

On this course you will learn how to be a more successful communicator by first understanding yourself, then using simple processes, including DiSC Behavioural Profiling, that make you more effective as a leader.

You will learn about Emotional Intelligence. There are a huge number of people with high IQs who are successful, but there is an equal number of people with an average IQ who are equally if not more successful. Emotional Intelligence allows you to deal with your own and others' emotions.

There's a great deal of talk about Systems Thinking. With a process designed by Ron Pollak Training, called an Infrastructure Audit, we help identify, in a practical and systemic fashion, 'the right things to do', which is a hallmark of leaders, rather than 'doing things right', a quality of managers.

The course covers creative problem-solving, strategic planning, dealing with stress and time management and much more.
