Time Management

Course Duration: 1 Day

A one-day course that is designed for anyone in business who needs to manage their day so that they get through the important tasks without too much stress or anxiety, to make them feel in charge and on top of their work! By the way - a little stress is okay - it's keeping it little that you'll learn about on this course.

Get on top of your diary and learn to make meetings more effective - a double benefit!

World Class Training

Managing time is hardly possible. You can only manage yourself. Time management is not easy for anyone. You probably have many pressures, interruptions and 'balls to juggle' or 'plates to spin', to use familiar analogies! For many people, it's hard to say "No", especially if it is your boss or a trusted co-worker that's asking. You can use the Urgent/Important Matrix to decide if a task or project is truly worth your time, or if it's something you should say "no" to.

Do you know when you're most focused during the day? For some people it could be when they first come into work. Others may feel more energetic and focused late in the afternoon. Using your peak time wisely can help you add time during the day, because you'll get more done, freeing up more time to do other things.

Every time you're interrupted, it can take you a few minutes to regain the focus you had before. So, learning how to manage interruptions successfully and minimise distractions can add significant time to your day.

Effectively Managing Meetings is one of the most vital components for the effective use of time. So many people quote boring, unproductive meetings as being a 'waste of time', that some sense of it all is needed.

By means of discussion, questionnaires, video, practical exercises, as well as trainer input, you will learn techniques for long-term and short-term personal planning (time management techniques) which will help you to work effectively under pressure and get results.

If you use your Action Planning form created while you complete this course, you will change the way you work! Maybe forever!

Who Will Benefit

This course is designed for anyone who can get more out of their day by managing their time more effectively.

In the Flow

Some people seem able to focus intensely on what they're doing, and perform exceptionally well as a result. Modern psychologists refer to this state of absolute absorption or concentration in what we are doing, as being "In the Flow".

Being In the Flow is hard to achieve in a busy office environment. Your phone rings, your email beeps to indicate that a new message has arrived, and co-workers pop by to ask you questions. At the same time you can't stop thinking about a whole range of personal and work issues that are causing you stress, not least of which is the sheer quantity of work which is piling up.

Learn how to be In the Flow on this course.

Managing Interruptions

Some of us just love interruptions. However, many everyday interruptions at work can be a key barrier to managing your time effectively. The key to controlling interruptions is to know what they are and whether they are necessary, and to plan for them in your daily schedule. On this course you will learn methods to help you manage those interruptions that frustratingly stop you achieving your goals.
